There are only three states in the nation that dedicate a week to animal welfare. Utah led the way, New Mexico was second and Ohio bacame the third state to take on the challenge, to make these states a better place for all animals.

Animal organizations throughout New Mexico are joining together to make this annual event a focal point for bringing animal welfare issues and humane education programs to the public.

Special events will make New Mexico’s Week for the Animals enjoyable and educational for both adults and children. Activities you could be involved in!

Teaching Tools

Children throughout New Mexico will learn about compassion for animals in special in-school humane education presentations.

Help us bring education programs to more of the states schools and youth groups. Let us help you to sponsor or teach a class.
Parents should see that their child is given this type of education and training as part
of a well rounded education.
Give them the tools for a life of quality.

Ask your local veterinarian if they participate in the Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program for cat(s) or dog(s). Vets who are not a part of the program but would like to be may call (505) 466-1525 for complete details.

Annual Service Awards

 Paving a path for others to follow, further the cause of animal welfare, successfully communicate, create a brighter future for animals. Nominations are open to anyone as long as they are a resident of the State of New Mexico.

These awards are designed to recognize individuals in New Mexico who have dedicated their talents, time and resources for the benefit of providing animals a better way of life.
